New project

This is just a new project I'll be working on as part of an assessment, the plan is to use Unity, and following the SideScroller tutorial, make a standard 2.5D game, which simply locks the Z position of the camera.

Though I will be creating my own assets, and adding a little more functionality, ie enemies shooting and multiple levels.

My main character of my own design (Concept Sketch; By Matt Smith)

Following the Tutorial, I created this which i exported for web and PC Stand Alone (stand alone meaning everything you need to play is in the Zip file)

Just a work in progress

This is something I'm working on, I haven't tried to make a full humanoid model before so this for a first attempt is quite good in my opinion. I was thinking of adding in some wings, rigging the wings however will be interesting.

Just pointing out that the blue hole in the top is where I plan
to attach the head, and there is no poly sitting there as a place
holder so you can see inside the the mesh.

Daedalus remodel

For the purpose of animating I'm remaking my Daedalus from scratch. It may look finished but there are in fact no engines, I also intend to add much more hull plating and additional detail.

There is talk of me compiling it to scale and letting a mate of mine map the interior to resemble the actual Daedalus class cruiser, but we shall see.

Redoing Renders

I'm redoing the renders for my models in a new style that Sniper showed me which not only makes them look better but it gives consistency to my renders. Before I'd change the background colour (Yes colour I'm Australian) from black to a light blue which doesn't quite match every time. So using this new render effect, it not only takes longer to render and gives me a bigger image but it looks awesome too.

The Puddle Jumper I made for Gmod, has just about been completely redone. I've also re-rendered my grenade launcher.

I'm planning to remake my Daedalus from scratch, then compile it for Gmod at full scale and let Bunglist make a map of the interior.

A little more dragon stuff

As I said yesterday, I've started working on a dragons head, not that I've made any more additions worth mentioning just tweaking really but the new way to render the models is a fun thing to play around with..

Actually making stuff again

Since I started a new course its been a bit more hectic, and I've felt generally unmotivated to make stuff, but recently I felt like I should give something a try.

You always see dragons in one way or another and some of the pictures that comeup in deviant art etc based off the DnD dragons just never look right, the art is great but the actual structure of the dragons look odd, some seem to have rather short legs, and others have necks that seem a bit too long even for a dragon.

Here is my current status at this point in time, I intend to update the 3D W*I*P page every so often, so of the 4 odd people that visit my site, the 1 who is interested can go and look there.
